Year 11 organised this event as part of our citizenship studies and coursework
Many of us researched the people to which the money helps through the children in need website and fundraising packs. These gave us ideas of different fundraising activities which we could use. Many of the students also researched different charities, events and past experiences through the internet books and older peers.
We discussed many ideas with our citizenship teachers. They gave us their input and opinions of what activities might be successful and others that wouldn’t be. We also discussed ideas with other pupils and brainstormed or collective minds. We then ran a meeting with our Head Teacher to discuss our final decisions, the people who took part in this meeting were the pupil leadership team.
We were supported by all of the teachers and pupils who were involved in the different activities and colabrated ideas.
All of the different acitivities were held in the school canteen during period five of the Friday 17th November. These activities were participated in by the schools year sevens. They each paid £1 to take part and this was our money raised. Some of the activities which were run included; doughnut eating competition, pudsey face painting and cookie decoration and lucky dip..etc
The year elevens have a better undersranding of how to organise activities and how to be a good citizen. They have a better understanding of charity and the work that they do. The understand more about who the money helps and how important it is to help those less fortunate than themselves.
