Your Challenge... bring it on!

The Giving Nation Challenge is a financially supported active learning programme. It aims to boost learning about charities, social enterprises and individual giving. It does this by providing a unique new curriculum-based active learning resource and a grant to help schools get going.

The programme is designed to deepen students' understanding of the role and value of UK charities while maintaining all the benefits of charitable support in the school environment. Its methodology and practice ensure that charitable participation remains entirely optional / voluntary within the school setting.

It also takes students through the processes of forming a mini-charity or mini-social enterprise.  It offers built in tools for creative planning and consultation (see example) so that each class becomes a short-lived organisation, competing against other classes for the hearts and minds of the rest of the school. Who will do this the most effectively - and what can be learned in the process?
