How do I register?
f this is your first time on the G-Nation site, you will need to create a profile to represent you on the site or in chatrooms - this can be fun and funky, an extension of your or an alter-ego or just anybody you feel like being.
When you‘re filling in your profile you‘ll need to think of a G-Name - this is what your character will be called on the site. Again, you can put in anything you like - within reason!
Think of a password that you can remember easily and that‘s not easy for others to guess. You‘ll need to put in your G-Name and password every time you use the site so don‘t forget them!
Next you need to choose your school. After you do this you will be able to click on My School and see what‘s going on. If there‘s nothing there, how about starting something yourself? It‘s got to start somewhere!
Now you‘re ready to create your character by clicking through the different options for hair, facial features, skin colour and clothing. Once you‘ve made a character you‘re happy with, click OK to check through what you‘ve put. Then click OK - and you‘re in!
How do I use the Chatroom?
The G-Nation chatroom is a great place to meet people, share ideas and opinions and hang out. But it is important to be careful when using online chatrooms. Although most people are genuine, you do need to be aware of what you are telling somebody about yourself.
Keep your personal details personal Be careful when giving out any personal details to anybody. Never give out any information you don‘t want to reveal - most importantly your password, telephone number, home address or email address.
Don‘t use bad language. Some phrases or words may cause offence to other users so we have set up a filter that catches any banned word and replaces it with stars. This includes swearing, racism and inappropriate sexual comments. If you come across anything you find offensive or inappropriate that has got through the filter, please email filter@g-nation.co.uk
Don‘t meet in real-life You can never tell if people are who they say there are - so play it safe and don‘t meet up outside of the G-Nation chatroom. If you decide you have to meet someone, then make sure you ALWAYS take a parent or an adult friend and ALWAYS meet in a public place.
